Survey: 45% of Social Media Peptide Buyers Visit ER

A Sunlight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults who use peptides shows that 45 percent of those who purchased from social media channels visited the emergency room or urgent care for related reactions, a rate three times higher than the overall 16 percent. One in seven peptide users bought from Telegram, WhatsApp, or social media sellers, while 75.5 percent relied on ChatGPT or other AI for dosing instructions. The findings highlight risks in the unregulated gray market amid a peptide market exceeding $50 billion annually.
